Join us in celebrating Wichita’s first "Save the Bees" Day. This Saturday is National Honey Bee Day and with the help of the good people at Beesponsible, the City of Wichita- Government has proclaimed Saturday, August 18th as Save the Bees Day. At 9am, take part in the official reading of the proclamation with City Council Member, Cindy Claycomb and Beesponsible’s own Jessica Cummings.

10-Noon Live music featuring Jesse Friesen
As a child, Jesse began playing the banjo for tips on the sidewalk at the Prairie Rose Chuckwagon Supper. At age 19, he joined the Prairie Rose Rangers as the guitar player and lead vocalist. He recorded three albums of folk music under the band name of Geneva Sky. Jesse was the only band member and played all of the instruments and sang all of the vocals. In 2012, he formed a group called Green Flamingos to perform what they call “acoustified rock and pseudo-electric folk.”
