Celebrate National Farmers’ Market Month with OTFM!

Why do you love Old Town Farmers’ Market? Shout it from the rooftops (and social media!) and enter the Farmers Market Coalition’s #LoveMyMarket Instagram Contest! We’re challenging market fans to get creative and show their love by posting photos to Instagram incorporating our “I Heart Farmers Markets” temporary tattoos.

It’s easy to enter:

  1. Come to the OTFM Information Booth on Saturday for an “I Heart Farmers Markets” temporary tattoo

  2. Take a photo of yourself, a farmer, shopper, puppy, baby, tomato – anyone or anything! – wearing a tattoo

  3. Post the photo to Instagram with the hashtags #LoveMyMarket #otfmwichta by August 31, 2017 AND, be sure to tag @otfmwichta

Fun prizes (and bragging rights) will be awarded to both the Old Town Farmers’ Market AND the creative photographer of the winning photos. Winners will be announced September, 2017.

Come celebrate with Little Lion Ice Cream! Need something to go with your ice cream? We have baked goods, coffee, peaches, and berries. No sweet tooth? This is the perfect time to create Farmers’ Market stirfry using the wonderful selection of fresh in-season vegetables found at OTFM.

This week, OTFM welcomes new vendor Zen Fitness LLC striving to improve the health of the community. At OTFM they will be offering Mobility Screenings and Kinesiology Taping.

10-noon: enjoy the music of Wichita-based band, Brutal Bear. All tips/donations to Brutal Bear go directly to their amazing non-profit, SoCe Life, furthering the Neighboring Movement in Wichita and beyond. This week, OTFM welcomes new vendors: Coppage Emporium featuring handcrafted stationery and handmade paper, Charlotte’s Breads & Fudge, and Bodacious Bettys offering durable 100% cotton washcloths, scrubbies, loofahs, makeup remover pads and soap bags.

Ticket holders will experience Kansas terroir presented by Krista Sanderson with Eat REAL America and local guest chefs and home cooks. Watch and learn as they demonstrate how to prepare amazing dishes using fresh ingredients, directly from the Market. Then, enjoy a plate of the culinary delights they prepared. Ticket holders can also access all recipes prepared by Krista and guest chefs on Eat REAL America’s website. 

This week’s guest chef is Travis Russell with Public at the Brickyard.  

Learn new culinary methods, try Krista and chef Travis' creations for yourself and experience Kansas terroir in the heart of Wichita.
